Packery Channel Boat Ramps
SPID / Park Road 22 at Packery Channel, North Padre Island
Water: Packery Channel to the Gulf and Laguna Madre. Multi-lane ramp with a big lot. Run the channel to the Gulf or back into the Upper Laguna Madre.
Clear, skinny water and grass flats from the JFK Causeway south through the Upper Laguna Madre to Baffin Bay, home of Texas's trophy trout. The Laguna barely has a tide, so wind and water level matter more than the tide clock.
Loading tide predictions…
The Laguna Madre has very small tides. Wind pushes more water here than the moon, so treat times as a rough guide.
The hour either side of each tide change and of sunrise and sunset. Green rows are when two line up.

Public, well-known water to start with. Respect private property and posted closures.
Easy wade access on both sides of the causeway. Reds and trout on the grass edges; watch for boat traffic in the channel.
Padre Island National Seashore's Laguna Madre side. Shallow grass flats for wading and kayaks, plus a launch ramp (park entry fee).
The spoil banks along the Intracoastal hold fish on the drop-offs. Drift the edges or wade the shallow side.
Baffin's serpulid reefs ('the rocks') hold big trout, especially in cool months. The rocks are hard on lower units: run slow and follow a guide or a good chart.
Jetty-protected channel between Mustang and Padre Islands. Flounder, sheepshead and reds on the moving tide, with a public ramp on site.
